Den 22. september slipper Teenage Fanclub sitt nye album, «Nothing Last Forever», en begivenhet Popklikk-redaksjonen gleder seg voldsomt til.
Da bander slapp glimrende «Endless Arcade» i 2021 skrev Popklikk-Espen (den yngre) blant annet følgende om plata:
«Teenage Fanclub lever i beste velgående! «Endless Arcade» er en frisk gitarpop-plate begått av et band som ikke glemmer kjernen i deres til nå lange virke, men som samtidig ser framover. Noe som gleder oss i Popklikk, konnosører som vi er av vellydende og melodiøs pop, med gitarene og hooksene i sentrum av universet!»
De fire singlene som er sluppet så langt fra «Nothing Last Forever»; «Back To The Light», «Tired Of Being Alone», «Foreign Land» og «I Left A Light On», lover svært godt. Fire låter som ikke levner tvil om hvem som har laget dem. Vi snakker deilige harmonier, tettsittende gitarer og fortryllende melodier.

Gjengen som spilte inn «Nothing Lasts Forever», Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley, Francis Macdonald og Dave McGowan møttes i studio uten en fiks ferdig plan, men fordi de jobbet så godt sammen tok det ikke lang tid å ferdigstille plata.
Norman Blake forteller blant annet følgende om plata:
«The songs on the last record were influenced by the breakup of my marriage. It was cathartic to write those songs. These new songs are reflective of how I’m feeling now, coming out of that period. They’re fairly optimistic, there’s an acceptance of a situation and all of the experience that comes with that acceptance. When we write, it’s a reflection of our lives, which are pretty ordinary. We’re not extraordinary people, and normal people get older. There’s a lot to write about in the mundane. I love reading Raymond Carver. Very often there’s not a lot that happens in those stories, but they speak to lived experience.»
Om plata har Raymond McGinley blant annet følgende å si:
«We never talk about what we’re going to do before we start making a record. We don’t plan much other than the nuts and bolts of where we’re going to record and when. That thing about light was completely accidental; we didn’t realize that until we’d finished half the songs. The record feels reflective, and I think the more we do this thing, the more we become comfortable with going to that place of melancholy, feeling and expressing those feelings.»
